What is Needed to Join the NRDE

Dance Educators who wish to join the National Registry of Dance Educators will be asked to supply extensive information and documentation regarding their educational background, dance education, performance and teaching experience. Trained evaluators who are qualified dance educators themselves, will review the information seeking further details where necessary to determine whether the applicant’s qualifications sufficiently meet established criteria.

If the applicant meets professional qualifications and agrees to voluntarily practice according to the Code of Ethics for Dance Educators © and Guidelines for the Safe Practice of Teaching Dance ©, the applicant is invited to join the Registry for a two year probationary period. During this time the new member will be asked to supply on-going documentation of their professional practice.

If successful, the Registered Dance Educator will then be offered full membership in the Registry to be renewed every five years after documenting they have continued to practice following the agreements.
