Patricia W. Ward holds a Certification in Isadora Duncan Studies and is an Isadora Duncan Movement Analyst affiliated with the Isadora Duncan International Institute. Her’s is a threefold descending lineage via Jeanne Bresciani, Director of the IDII and Irma Duncan through their students Hortense Kooluris and Julia Levien. Ms. Ward is among the Artistic Faculty with Young Audiences of Virginia. She is a past Regional Advisory Panelist and is included in the Artist Roster for the Artists-In-Education Residence Program with the Virginia Commission for the Arts. She is adjunct faculty through the VCCS teaching Duncan Dance, Modern Dance, Dance History, Humanities, and Pilates/Yoga and holds k-12 teaching credentials in Virginia and North Carolina. |

In addition to Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Post Baccalaureate Degree in Dance from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, she holds a Master of Arts Degree in Dance/Related studies from University of North Carolina-Greensboro. Professional affiliations include National Dance Education Organization, Congress of Research on Dance, the Society of Dance History Scholars, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association, and the National Registry of Dance Educators. Ms. Ward presents and performs with IDII, public and private educational institutions, arts studios, museums, hospitals, arts therapies conferences, and a variety of non-traditional performance spaces. As Director, soloist and performer of Moving Voices, The Isadora Duncan Cultural Exchange, Ms. Ward along with her students and Repertoire Ensemble present original Duncan works as well as contemporary pieces reflecting the Duncan idiom. |
